Dr. Ellen Lewis: is a bilingual native speaker (English/Spanish) global organization development (OD) consultant and systems thinker with 30 years’ experience in gender equality, change management, governance and leadership, capacity building, program design, evaluation and strategic planning.

Ellen is a co-author of a new UN Women publication: Inclusive Systemic Evaluation for Gender Equality, Environments and Marginalized Voices: A New Approach for the SDG Era (UN Women, 2018) an emerging methodology which pays attention to how evaluation can attend to environmental sustainability, social and gender justice.

Additionally, Ellen is a research fellow with the Centre for Systems Studies at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom developing relationships and cooperation with partner organisations to influence policy and decision making within disaster risk management, marginalised populations protection/security and climate change in post-conflict countries of Colombia, Indonesia, Nepal and Southern Thailand. She has held senior management positions (staff and consultancies) related to gender equality (economic and social empowerment), education reform, marginalized populations, youth employment, technical education within K-12 educational systems and international NGOs.

Ellen currently lives in Northern California and has lived or worked in Ethiopia, Europe, Oman, Latin America and the Caribbean, United Kingdom and the USA. She has conducted evaluations on large, multi-year community and school reform projects as well as gender empowerment and economic projects in rural and development locations. Through her OD work, she has conducted organisational assessments to determine capacity development needs of partner organisations, created capacity building strategies, learning networks and culturally adapted curriculum using best practices, technical capacities and core competencies, as well as identifying new potential partners in line with the programme and funding strategies.
